  • Why Orbis Sacri?

The climate crisis, inequality and injustice are ultimately in the hands of all of us. Not just the powerful. We don't have to accept the way the world appears to us. We may feel we have limited agency, but locally we can make a difference, in our homes, with our friends and in our communities. It just requires a mindset change.

    Orbis Sacri means Sacred World.

If we treated our planet and all life within and on it as sacred, the climate crisis, and inequality would be consigned to an unfulfilling past.

The next time you go for a walk listen to the sounds of life surrounding us. Before long you will recognise the spirit of life, the divine spark in nature.

It's a daily miracle. "The world is charged with the grandeur of God." ~ Gerard Manley Hopkins

    We need inspiration

It's no use berating people or being doomsters. To capture people's imaginations and hunger

for a regenerative world they need to be inspired by examples of what can be done.

That is what I hope to provide. I will highlight positive stories of examples of regenerative businesses, and the many regenerative global movements and their successes.

Teilhard de Chardin SJ (1881-1955). Jesuit priest, renowned palaeontologist, theologian.

“The day will come when, after harnessing space, the winds, the tides, and gravitation, we shall harness for God the energies of love. And on that day, for the second time in the history of the world, we shall have discovered fire.”

Jeremy Cox, founder of Orbis Sacri

After 40 odd years in the IT industry in sales, marketing, consulting and most recently as an IT industry analyst, I changed tack to do something more purposeful.

In February 2023 I was inspired by a ten-day trip to India, courtesy of the Zoho Corporation, at their HQ in Chennai, and their village school and organic farm in Tenkasi, rural Southern India. Since then, I've spent my time researching the field of Regenerative Business.

This opened a multi-dimensional Pandora's Box covering a host of interrelated topics. Regenerative Business is a vital component, but my fundamental belief is that we can overcome our extractive Anthropocene present if we treat the planet and all that is on it and in it as sacred. Stewards of the Earth, not its masters.
